Alvin Lewis McCarver

Alvin’s life began October 18, 1963 in Benton Harbor.  He worked for Gast Manufacturing for many years until his heath wouldn’t allow him.  Alvin loved to ride his motorcycle and spend time with his family.  His loving family includes: two children Alvin (Stephanie) McCarver IV and Rebecca McCarver both of Lafayette, IN; three grandchildren Aiden, Alvin, and Alaina; his mom Barbara McCarver; his girlfriend of 15 years Melissa Shaffer; three siblings Johnny McCarver, Balinda (Alan) Stamin, and Tina McCarver; many nieces and nephews; and his ultimate best friend his dog Bandit.

Alvin died Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Spectrum Health Center in Grand Rapids, MI.  His dad Alvin McCarver II precedes Alvin in death.  Funeral services will be celebrated Sunday, October 22, at 4:00 PM with visitation prior starting at 2:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet.  Alvin will be cremated following the service.  Memorials may be made in Alvin’s memory to ASPCA or St. Jude’s.  You may leave a message for Alvin’s family at hutchinsfuneral.com
