Junior’s life began June 16, 1933 in Salem, Arkansas. His family came to Michigan when he was young for work and Junior met the love of his life Mary Scott and made Michigan his home. Junior loved farming and also was an auto mechanic in Keeler for many years. Junior served on the Keeler Volunteer Fire Department for several years and at one time was Assistant Chief. When Junior wasn’t working or protecting his community you could find him tinkering in his yard either keeping his yard immaculately mowed or protecting it from moles.
Junior considered himself the richest man in the world because of his loving family which includes: four children Judy (Mel) Brooks, Chuck (Paula) Bogart, Dorothy (David) Pultz, June Curtis; nine grandchildren Andrea Whorton, Trace Brooks, Brittany Bogart, Patrick Sexton Jr, Samantha Kornoelje, William Curtis, Nicholas Pultz, Mary Pultz, and Nate Pultz; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Junior died Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family. His wife of 46 years Mary (Scott) Bogart, parents James and Dorothy Bogart, and five brothers precede Junior in death. Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday, December 15, at 12:00 PM with visitation prior starting at 11:00 AM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford. Memorials may be made in Junior’s name to Keeler Fire Department.
