Larry’s life began March 3, 1940 in Duck Town, Tennessee. He spent most of his life in Valparaiso, Indiana where he grew up and worked as an iron worker. Outside of work Larry enjoyed being a vendor at the 1700’s Reenactments.
Larry leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory which includes: his wife of 16 years Gwendolyn Griffin; two children Joe Griffin and Amanda Griffin; five step children Alicia Baxter, Loren Simmons, Gidget Hassett, Clay Simmons, and Lindsey Goodlow; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a brother Ron Griffin.
Larry died Thursday, January 17, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. His parents Fred and Ruth (Worley) Griffin and a brother Jerry Griffin precede Larry in death. A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM at First General Baptist Church in Coloma.
