Lori D'Ann (Weber) Jarvis

October 30, 1960 ~ June 14, 2018 (age 57)

Lori’s life began October 30, 1960, in Hastings, Nebraska.  She grew up in Hastings and after high school, Lori continued her education earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Art from the University of Nebraska Lincoln.  While in Nebraska, Lori put her journalism degree to use working for the Lincoln Journal Star.  She later became an Alcohol and Drug Prevention Specialist in Nebraska.

Lori enjoyed politics and was a National Committee Woman for the Nebraska Federation of Young Republicans. That role took her to Washington DC for a Young Republicans Leadership Conference where she met Eugene “Butch” Jarvis.  Lori and Butch had an instant connection and eventually, she moved to Michigan. Lori worked as project manager for Syscon International in South Bend and later as an account manager at ARS Advertising in St. Joseph.  She was elected to the office of Register of Deeds for Berrien County in 2000 and was re-elected 4 times and she served until her passing. During her tenure, she was recognized twice as Register of the Year by her peers in the Michigan Association of Register of Deeds.

Lori served on the Berrien County Republican Executive Committee, was a member of the Michigan Association of Register of Deeds, and recently, she was appointed by Governor Snyder to represent Michigan on a committee to address electronic document recording.

Lori gave back to her community of Coloma helping to organizing a SADD Chapter, serving as Co-Chairperson of After Prom for 5 years, serving as a member of Coloma Schools Steering Committee, and helping with the Varsity Soccer Program. Each year Lori found herself back home in Nebraska volunteering for Kool-Aide Days.

Lori was passionately devoted to her community but above everything she loved her family which includes: her husband of 24 years Eugene “Butch” Jarvis; three children Caroline Jarvis, Alyssa Jarvis, and Erik Jarvis; her mom Ilene Weber, four siblings Michael (Raylene) Weber, Suzanne Weber, Paul (Beverly) Weber, and Cheryl (Jeffery) Welsh; and several nieces and nephews.

Lori died June 14, as the result of a car accident.  Her dad Benjamin Weber and a brother Randall Lee Weber precede Lori in death.
