Minnie’s life began January 11, 1925 in McDonald, Michigan, a small community in VanBuren County. She was a lifetime area resident and worked at the Watervliet Paper Mill for over 40 years, Minnie proudly was one of the few women to run a paper machine. In 1947 Minnie married the love of her life Calvin Sadler, together they would be founding members of the Southwest Buggy Club and help raise nieces, nephews and other children as their own. Minnie enjoyed going to garage sales, being active in her church and cheering on Dale Earnhardt Jr to victory. Family was very important to Minnie and hers revolved around many nieces and nephews including her care givers nephew Robert (Lori) Hosbein and great niece Dawn (Brandon) Melvin.
Minnie died Wednesday, April 11, at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in South Haven. Her husband Calvin Sadler, parents, and six siblings precede her in death. Friends may visit with Minnie’s family Monday, April 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Funeral Services will be celebrated Tuesday, April 17, at 11:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Coloma, MI. Burial will follow in Watervliet Cemetery.
