Bennie's life began May 26, 1946 in Muskegon, Michigan.  Bennie grew up in the Muskegon area.  He married Nanette Davis in 1969 and that brought him to southwest Michigan where he went to work for Bosh until retirement.  Bennie enjoyed being active at North Berrien Senior Center, playing cards, hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed his loving family which includes: his wife Nanette; four children Benjamin (Abby) Light of Benton Harbor, Jamie Light of Los Angeles, CA, John Light of Hartford, and Barbara Shape of Sarasota, FL; one grandchild; four siblings Nancy Quickery of South Haven, Pamela Light Parker of South Haven, Randy Light of Crestview, FL, and Don (Shirley) Metcalf of East Jordan, MI, and many nieces and nephews.

Bennie died Thursday, June 16, at home.  His parents Benjamin and Bertha (Collins) Light and three brothers Robert Light, Richard Light, and Ron Metcalf precede Bennie in death.  Hutchins Funeral Home assisted Bennie's family with cremation.  Bennie's family invited you to join them Friday, June 24, after 2:00 PM at Van Buren State Park in South Haven, Michigan for a gathering to share stories about Bennie.
