Bernice's life began January 26, 1941, in Manilla, Arkansas.  When she was a young girl her family moved to Michigan where Bernice would call home and graduate from Coloma High School.  Bernice married her high school sweetheart Roger Zachary and they enjoyed raising their three children together.  She worked for Dr. Shastri for many years.  Bernice enjoyed working puzzles, flower gardening, traveling, and going out to dinner.  She was an active member of Midway Baptist Church in Watervliet where she ejoyed attending bible study.

Bernice's greatest joy came in spending time with her loving family which includes: three children Michael (Lori) Zachary, Jeff (Debbie) Zachary, and Lorri (Dave) Hildebrand; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a sister Darlene Stinnett; and many nieces and nephews.

Bernice died Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at home surrounded by family.  She is preceded in death by her husband Roger, a sister Ella Lidberg, a brother Harold Fleming, and her parents Odell and Estell (Stanfill) Fleming.  A memorial service will be celebrated Friday, March 26, at 11:00 AM at Midway Baptist Church in Watervliet.  Memorials may be made in Bernice's memory to Midway Baptist Church.  Hutchins Funeral Home is assisting Bernice's family with cremation and you are invited to leave a message of comfort for her family at hutchinsfuneral.com
