Obituary

Beverly's life began October 28, 1931, in Benton Harbor, where she grew up and graduated from Benton Harbor High School.  In 1949 Beverly met John Tarantino at Silver Beach in St. Joseph, they married in 1950 and enjoyed 68 years of marriage before he passed in 2018. She spent her lifetime living in Southwest Michigan until moving to Lansing to be closer to family.  Beverly worked for Watervliet Public Schools for 19 years as the high school guidance counselor secretary.  Outside of work she enjoyed being active in her community through being a member of the Lioness Club, MECCA, and she was a friend of the library.  You could also find her enjoying golf, playing bingo, or planning activities.

Beverly's greatest joy was spending time with her loving family which includes: three children Gary (Eula) Tarantino, Gail Kessler, and Bruce (Judy) Tarantino; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Beverly died Friday, January 8, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  Her husband John, great grandson Collin Tarantino, parents Jay and Doris (Becker) Means, a brother Donald Means, and a son-in-law Gary Kessler precede Beverly in death.  Hutchins Funeral Home is assisting Beverly's family with cremation and her life will be celebrated this spring.  You are invited to leave a message of comfort for her family.
