Judy's life began August 6, 1946 in Marktree, Arkansas. As a child her family moved to Michigan, settling in Southwest Michigan. On November 7, 1964, she married John Chancellor. Judy loved caring for her family which includes: her husband John Chancellor; three children Mabel (Todd) Ellis, Rachel (Keith) Wesaw, and Johnny (Annette) Chancellor; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five siblings Nittie (Ed) Hale, Shirley Barnett, Barbra (Walter) Gilliam, LaVada (Dale) Sherburn, and Donna (Dennis) Buttler; and several nieces and nephews.

Judy died Saturday, July 25, at home. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Irene Hicks, a brother Raymond Hicks, and three sisters Ruby Hartsfield, Sue Vaughn, and Phyllis Moody. Funeral services celebrating Judy's life will be Friday, July 31, at 1:00 PM at First General Baptist Church with visitation prior starting at 11:00 AM.
