November 5, 1931 – September 7, 2018
On September 7th at 11;09 pm Clarence Alvin Dominion passed away at Caretel Inn. Clarence Dominion was born November 5th 1931 in Chicago, to Louis and Caroline (Butavenis). After serving in the Army he returned home to help his ailing father and his farming career began. He and his brother Edward formed Dominion Bros Inc and began a life time of growing fruits and vegetables. He was articulate at designing new concepts and was always was trying to improve existing practices and was an innovator of new ideas. Clarence was a second father to his nieces and nephews and taught them many good and useful lessons along the way. To them he was just Uncle. And before long the employees and neighbors as well were calling him Uncle. His determination and perseverance served as good examples to his nieces and nephews.
Clarence was proceeded by his parents, 4 brothers Louis, Daniel, William and Edward. Clarence is survived by Edwards wife (Carol Ann sister-in-law). Nephews Louis of Stevensville, Daniel of Benton Harbor, Edward of Portland, Oregon and Michael Dominion of Kalamazoo. Nieces Carol Ann Curry of Schaumberg, Illinois, Mary Ann Aipoalani Rancho of Marieta, California and Ann Marie Dominion of Los Angeles, California.
Clarence will be remember for his many ingenious ideas but most of all for his many loyal years spent with his family.
Our sincerest thanks for all the doctors, nurses, health teams and to Caretel Inn for the patience and passionate care they gave to Clarence during his illness.
Visitation will be at Hutchins Funeral home in Watervliet Saturday September 15th at 9:00 am, Rosary at 10:00 am and The Celebration of Life Mass at 11:00 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Burial will be in the family cemetery plot in Keeler, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St John's Catholic Church.
