Cora's life began November 28, 1962, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She grew up in Benton Harbor where she graduated high school. Cora worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Howell Electric. She loved her family and coordinating gatherings such as reunions and holidays to get them together. Cora found great joy in her daughter and especially doting on her two grandchildren. She had a soft spot for her Pitbull, who was her constant companion. Cora will also be remembered for establishing and running the annual Fairplain Cruise In.

Cora leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory including: her husband of 44 years Gary Igert; her daughter Candace; her son-in-law Matthew Marquette; two grandchildren Dominic and Meredith; three brothers James (Betty) Douglas Christopher, Mike Christopher, and Dan Christopher; a brother-in-law Larry Curtis; a sister-in-law Darnell Christopher; and many nieces and nephews.

Cora died June 22, 2023, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Roselind (Jenkins) Christopher, a sister Diane Curtis, and two brothers James "Butch" Christopher and Ron Christopher.

Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet is assisting Cora's family with cremation. Her family will celebrate her life on July 10th, 2023. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Cora's family.
