Debra's life began September 4, 1953, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She was a lifetime area resident and ran Morrison Rentals for many years. Debra's favorite job was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, and cooking for her family. She enjoyed listening to music, relaxing in a chair with her dog or cat laying comfortably in her lap, and just life in general. Debra loved people and helping friends and family.

She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory including: her life partner Ray Martell; her daughter Linda Robinson; three stepchildren Tanya Martell, Jason Martell, and Kairey Martell; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Debra died Friday, February 7, 2025, at Corewell Health Hospital in St. Joseph. She is preceded in death by her dad Thomas Ellis, mom Mary (Haltom) Franklin, a sister Linda (Ellis) Robinson and a brother Tom Ellis.

Friends may visit with Debra's family Friday, February 14, 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 PM, with her funeral service being celebrated at 12:00 PM at Hutchins uneral Home in Watervliet. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Debra's family.
