Donald's life began September 24, 1936 in Hartford. After high school Donald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Donald served time in Vietnam, attained the rank of Master Sergeant, worked as a turbo prop mechanic in the Air Force and retired after serving his country for 25 years. After retiring from the Air Force Donald went to work at D.C. Cook Nuclear Plant where he also retired. Outside of work Donald enjoyed fishing camping, hunting, traveling, and woodworking. He was a good man and great father who found much joy in helping those in need.
Donald's greatest joy came in spending time with his loving family which includes: his wife Faye (Arnett) Rouse; four children Theresa (David) Lake, Donald (Wanda) Rouse, Shawnn Rouse, and Christopher Rouse; six grandchildren Samantha, Victor, Ashley, Alyssa, Kyle, and Brandon; a great grandson Bryce; two siblings Douglas (Sandy) Rouse and Dolores Puskala; and many nieces and nephews.
Donald died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. His parents Donald and Grace (Weston) Rouse and a daughter Donna Faye Rouse precede Donald in death. A memorial service will be celebrated Friday, April 22 at 12:00 noon with visitation prior starting at 11:00 AM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet.
