Dorothy Jean Blatchford-McDonald (Allison), 79, Watervliet, MI passed away peacefully at Lakeland Hospital with family by her side on Saturday, October 10, 2015.
Jean was born April 15,1936 in Kalamazoo, MI to Clarence and Dorothy Allison (Brice).
She is survived by her three children Lane/Kathy (Dean), Paris, MI, Scot Blatchford, St. Joseph, MI, and Allison MacLagan (Blatchford), Valparaiso, IN, her grandchildren Kirk Blatchford, Milwaukee, WI, Kenton Blatchford, East Lansing, MI, Kelsey Blatchford, Paris, MI, Brooklynn MacLagan, Valparaiso, IN, Clayton MacLagan, Valparaiso, IN, Campbell MacLagan, Valparaiso, her brother-in-law Josiah Blatchford and sister-in-law Bobbi Blatchford (Ecker), Watervliet, MI and several cousins, nieces, nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her brother James Allison, her husband Laurence H. Blatchford, her son Todd Blatchford, and her second husband C. James McDonald.
Before moving to Michigan Jean was a tap & jazz dance teacher at the Park Forest Conservatory in Park Forest, IL. Most recently she worked as a
Receptionist
at The Whitcomb Retirement Home in St. Joseph, MI. Jean also volunteered for church events and in the community and recently celebrated 50 years as a member of her PEO Chapter DV. Her love of family and friends was evident by her constant smile and zest for life. She will forever be our favorite dancer.
