Dorothy's life began January 1, 1942 in Kennett, Missouri.  She made her home in Southwest Michigan where she worked at Watervliet Community Hospital and VM.  Dorothy's greatest joy was spending time with her family.  She loved to cook, have gatherings, and go to the drive in.

Dorothy's family includes; four children Dotty (Jeff) Herriman of Hartford, Robert James JR of Benton Harbor, Debbie Bannack of Schaumburg, IL, and Buddy James of Benton Harbor, 12 grandchildren, one great grandchild, one great great grandchild, a sister Shirley Kiser of Riverside, and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy died Monday, September 5, at Pine Ridge Nursing Home.  Her husband Jarrelle Hart, two sons Joe James and Timothy James, and seven brothers and sisters Clair, George, Donna, Orlene, Maglene, Charles, and Bill precede Dorothy in death.  Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday, September 8, at 12:00 PM with visitation prior starting at 10:00 AM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford.  You are invited to leave a memory of Dorothy at hutchinsfuneral.com
