March 13, 1934 – April 11, 2015
Evelyn's life began March 13, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois. At the age of 13 her family moved to Hartford where Evelyn would call home. Friends introduced her to Gerald Wesaw who she would be blessed with 62 years of marriage. Evelyn enjoyed square dancing with the "Wheeler Dealers", Tole Painting, spending time with her family, and helping people. Her family's love for one another and willingness to help people was recognized in 1998 when they were awarded the Knights of Columbus Council 4055 family of the year.
Evelyn's loving family includes: her husband Gerald Wesaw Sr; four children Matthew (Gloria) Wesaw of Lansing, Mark (Therese) Wesaw of Plainwell, Lois Wesaw of Hartford, and Keith (Rachel) Wesaw of Watervliet; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; four sisters Josephine "Josie" (Gale) Congdon, Lois Rittenhouse, Ruth Baushke, and Helen (Loris) Goss; several nieces and nephews; and Miko her four legged friend.
Evelyn died Saturday, April 11, at White Oaks Nursing Home in Lawton. Her parents Matthew and Helen (Jollay) Wilkinson, a son Gerald Wesaw Jr, grandson Shane Wesaw, two sisters Alice Siewert and Mary Zehner, and a special friend Irene Neal precede Evelyn in death.
Friends may visit with Evelyn's family Tuesday, April 14, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 15, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford. Memorials may be made in Evelyn's memory to Alzheimer's Association through White Oaks Nursing Home or Grace Hospice. You may share a memory with Evelyn's family at hutchinsfuneral.com.
