Frances
was born
November 14, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in Chicago and earned her nursing degree
from Loyola University
. After college she relocated to Southwest Michigan where she took a nursing position with Whirlpool Corporation a
nd later worked for local family physicians
.
Frances is best known for owning and operating Motto's Cottages on Paw Paw Lake. She especially enjoyed the many generations of families that stayed with her over the years. Frances' greatest memories were spending time with family and friends. She had a true passion for helping people.
On May 9, 1959, she married Milton Cuddie and together they raised a loving family which includes: four daughters Patricia (Dave) Owens, Catherine (Alan) Gravelin, Teresa (Ken) Gambon, and Mary (Tim) Mahler; seven grandchildren Rachael, Ryan
(Krystina),
John, Nicole, Nicholas, Jacob, and Jaden; a brother Robert (JoAn) Motto; s
ister-in-law Roberta (Ronald) Bickley
and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Frances died Wednesday, September 16, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. She is preceded by her loving husband Milton Cuddie, parents Joseph and Quinta (Zeano) Motto, and sister-in-law Emma (David) Gemmel in death. Friends may visit with Frances' family
