Frank's life journey began on January 10, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois. As a young boy his family bought and moved to a farm in Covert to raise animals and blueberries. Frank enjoyed growing up on the farm even helping his parents with the blueberries well into adulthood. After graduating high school, Frank proudly served his country oversees in the United States Navy. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Frank returned to Southwest Michigan going to work for Bona Benton for 15 years. After working there, Frank drove a variety of trucks until he went to work at Watervliet Papermill for 20 years until his retirement. Outside of work, Frank was a lifelong motorcyclist enthusiast traveling throughout the country until his older years. He was an avid reader, loved to watch old movies especially classic westerns. Frank was very good with technology, especially the computer where he spent his time expanding his knowledge and playing puzzles to keep his mind sharp.
Frank leaves behind his three loving nieces; Diane (Glenn) Steeg, Debra Naylor, and Darlene Howe, several great nieces and nephews, various close friends, cousins. Throughout his life he shared a deep friendship with Steve Bazan and his cousin Don Pintozzi. Frank , Steve, and Don were better known as the "three amigos". As an older man he became close with his neighbors Steve Brooks and Rose Reynolds who were always there to help him when needed.
Frank died Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Corewell Health in St. Joseph after a very short illness. His life's journey was one of hard work, fierce independence, humor, and kindness ot others. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Catherine (Chytia) Stoklosa, a sister Lorraine (Eugene) Howe, and a brother Richard Stoklosa.
A graveside service was held to celebrate Frank's life on July 23, 2024, at Fish Cemetery in Covert. Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet assisted Frank's family with arrangements. You are invited to leave a message of comfort.
