Jack's life began September 29, 1937 in Benton Harbor.  He was a lifetime area resident and worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 28 years.  Jack enjoyed life and the laid back days which came with retirement.  He found great joy spending time with his loving family which includes: his wife of 56 years Marguerite Herman; four children Jack (Patty) Herman of Galien, Mary Herman of Coloma, Larry Herman of Coloma, and Edward (Nancy) Herman of Casselberry, FL; two grandchildren Blake and Brooke Herman; two siblings Charles Herman and Corrine Elgin; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack went peacefully home to the Lord surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 9, 2018.  He is preceded in death by a grandson Christopher Herman, his parents Emil and Alethea (Bayman) Herman, a sister JoAnne Bruff, and a niece Julie Cole.  Jack's family celebrated his life with a private service and laid him to rest in Galien Cemetery.  Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet assised Jack's family with arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made in Jack's memory to Caring Circle Hospice.
