Jim's life began June 29, 1935, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Jim grew up in Watervliet where he graduated high school and was a lifetime area resident. After high school Jim went to work as a Machinist at Heath Company and retired after 40 years. In his free time Jim enjoyed farming, gardening, and following football, baseball and NASCAR on television.

Jim's greatest love was his family which includes; two sons Rex Danneffel and his friend Rosie and Jay Danneffel and his wife Valerie, a son in-law Tom Smith, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, his best friend Bill McDonald, and two nephews.

Jim died Wednesday, October 12, surrounded by family at Hanson Hospice Center. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Beverly (Andres) Danneffel, a daughter Lori Smith, and his parents Herbert and Irene (Hayes) Danneffel.

Hutchins Funeral Home is assisting Jim's family with cremation. They will celebrate his life with visitation Wednesday, October 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. A graveside service will be celebrated Thursday, October 20, at 10:00 AM at Kniebes Cemetery in Coloma. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Jim's family.
