Janis' life began September 3, 1955 in Berrien Springs, Michigan.  She was a lifetime area resident who loved her family.  Janis' family includes two daughters Kristina DeVreese and Candice Benson both of Manistee, nine grandchildren, a great grandchild, and her sister June Chick of Kansas.

Janis died Saturday, January 21, at home.  She is preceded in death by two children Rikresha and Zach DeVreese and her parents Winn and Loetta (Clark) Guthrie. Janis will be buried Tuesday, January 24, at 2:00 PM with a graveside service at Union Cemetery in Berrien Center.  Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet is assisting Janis' family with arrangements.  You may leave a message for Janis' family at hutchinsfuneral.com
