Jesse's life began Jan, 1, 1940, in Texas. As a child his family moved to Chicago, where he spent most of his life. Jesse retired in 1999 as a Chicago Police Officer after 32 years of service to the city. While an officer, the Pope, while working security for him, blessed him and he was awarded many accommodations from Mayor Daley. Jesse was a member of the FOP and he helped many people through being a turn key for four different AA meetings. When he wasn't helping his fellow man Jesse enjoyed being a movie buff.
His loving family includes four children: Mary Jane (Tony) Toms, Jesse (Tina) Valles, Jennifer (Eric) Osborn, and Jeremy (Lynette) Milliken; seven grandchildren; his mother, Antonia Yanez, and a special niece and nephew Elaine (George) Sack and Al (Amy) Yanez.
Jesse died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014. He is preceded in death by his fiancé, Pamela Bryant; a daughter, Christy Partain; a granddaughter, Jennifer Cernekee, and his father Alfred Yanez.
Funeral services will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. with visitation prior starting at noon at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet.
