Obituary

John's life began October 16, 1942, in Perryville, Arkansas. John spent most of his lifetime in Southwest Michigan. He was a skilled carpenter and also worked as a lineman and auto mechanic. John loved music, especially bluegrass, and was a talented mandolin player. When John wasn't working you could find him gardening, collecting treasures, or enjoying steam engines.

John's greatest joy was his spending time with his loving family he leaves behind to cherish his memory including: his three children Mabel (Todd) Ellis, Rachel (Keith) Wesaw, and Johnny (Annette) Chancellor; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; five siblings Jenny Pullen, Tommy (Brenda) Chancellor, Jimmy Dale Chancellor, Anthony (Linda) Chancellor, and Linda (James) Barnett; and several nieces and nephews.

John died Monday, June 20, 2022, at home surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Brenda (Hicks) Chancellor, his parents Guy and Lois (Gifford) Chancellor, and four siblings; Billie Douglas, Sue Hicks, Donald Chancellor, and Gregory Chancellor.

Funeral services will be celebrated Friday, June 24, 2022, at 1:00 PM with visitation prior starting at 11:00 AM at First General Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Watervliet. Memorials may be made to John's family. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for John's family.
