Joe's life began June 27, 1948 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He grew up in Fort Wayne where he graduated high school and met his future wife Marva Logan whom he married October 3, 1970. Joe proudly served his country, after his service Joe went to work as a journeyman. His career took him to Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman, so he packed up his family and made his home in Watervliet. Joe worked at Cook for 25 years. Outside of work he enjoyed coaching his sons baseball teams, umpiring, and fishing. Most recently in his retirement Joe filled his time helping his children with remodeling projects on their homes.
Joe's greatest joy came in spending time with his loving family which includes; his wife Marva of Watervliet; his daughter Keitia and her husband Michael Davidson of South Haven; two sons Nathan and his fiancé Tonia Schreiber Riley of Watervliet and Benjamin and his wife Ashleigh Bobay of Kalamazoo; two grandsons Derrick and Carter Davidson; and a brother Don Bobay of Fort Wayne, IN.
Joe died Monday, October 28, at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. His parents Adolph and Maxine (Hendricks) Bobay precede Joe in death.
Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be celebrated Friday, November 1, at 4:00 PM; you may visit with Joe's family prior to the service from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Memorials may be made in Joe's memory to a charity of your choice.
