Julie was born August 6, 1953, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She was a lifetime area resident and worked for Atlantic Automotive. She loved being a mom, grandma, great grandma and caring for her family. Julie enjoyed crafting, baking, gardening and The Pittsburgh Steelers. She found joy in gathering her family together especially for the holidays.

Julie leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory including: three children Beverly (Paul) Yakel, John (Tina) Lawrick, and Shane Lawrick; four grandchildren Justin Arthur (Lexi Thomas), Tiffany (George) Gaunder, Carter Rodriguez and Bryce Lawrick; two great grandchildren Anthony Benya and Maci Gaunder; and her bonus family DeAnna (Robert) Potter, Tiffany, Kimberlynn, Kristin, Chase, Mya, Collin, Jared, Hunter and Ethan.

Julie died Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Spectrum Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph surrounded by her family. Julie is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Helen (Rein) Maahs and her brother Sonny Maahs. Friends may visit with Julie's family Saturday, December 18th, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Visitation will be followed by a graveside service at 2:30 PM at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Julie's family.
