Kathleen's life began April 11, 1945 in St. Joseph, MI. She was a lifetime area resident. She loved caring for her loving family which includes: her husband Tom Rice; four children Matthew Hemming of Oklahoma, Tina Gaul of Benton Harbor, Tommy (Dionna) Rice Jr. of Coloma, and Amy Rice of Coloma; five grandchildren Sean Hemming, Zachary Hemming, Carissa Rice, Laney Bortz, and Tommy Rice III; a great grandchild Kylie Hemming; and a daughter-in-law Michelle Eagley of Buchanan.

Kathleen died January 10, at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. Her parents Leroy and Doris (Albright) Kubshigski precede Kathleen in death.
