Katie's life began June 22, 1930 in Dyersburg, Tennessee.  As a child her family moved to Southwest Michigan to find work.  They settled in the area known as Fairhaven where they bought a farm.  In 1949, Katie married Norman Horney and they moved to Coloma and raised three daughters.  She enjoyed gardening and painting houses, sheds, and other projects.

Katie loved her family which includes her daughters Wendy Stevens of Coloma, Patsy Horney and Betsy Daily both of Watervliet, seven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Katie died Sunday, January 10, in South Haven.  Her loving husband Norman Horney and parents Vaden and Bertha Aline (Payne) Lechenet precede Katie in death.  Funeral services will be celebrated Thursday, January 14, at 1:00 PM with visitation prior starting at 12:00 noon at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet.  Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens.  Memorials may be made to Katie's family.  You are invited to share a memory of Katie at hutchinsfuneral.com
