Kenneth’s life began on November 2, 1944, in Henderson, Kentucky. At around the age of ten, his family moved to Southwest Michigan, where they made their home and where Kenneth would build a life filled with family, friendship, hard work, and adventure.

Kenneth worked for many years in the construction industry and was the proud owner of Kenneth Daugherty Roofing. His passion, however, was flying. He was proud to hold his pilot’s license and own his own plane, and he cherished the time he spent in the sky.

When Kenneth wasn’t working or enjoying time in the sky, you could often find him visiting with friends and enjoying a good cup of coffee at one of the many local restaurants he frequented. Kenneth had a special knack for making new friends and truly never knew a stranger. His genuine interest in others made him someone people were happy to know.

Kenneth and his wife, Nancy, enjoyed traveling and, most of all, spending time with their family. He will be lovingly remembered for the many memories he created with those he loved.

Kenneth leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his wife of 54 years, Nancy (Hamilton) Daugherty; two daughters, Deborah (David) Colter and Katelynn Puttnam; son, Adam (Carmella) Daugherty; five grandchildren, Cory, Nicholas, Jadelyn, Ethan, and Elaina; sister, Louretta Fowler; and many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Corewell Health Hospital in Farmington Hills. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Daugherty Jr.; his parents, Fred and Barbara (Phelps) Daugherty; and six siblings, Jay, Jerry, Ray, Mary, Brenda, and Betty.

Funeral services will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Watervliet. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Kenneth's family.
