IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth
Stewart
August 19, 1944 – November 19, 2018
Ken's life began August 19, 1944 in Truman, Arkansas. As a child his family moved to Watervliet, Michigan where Ken graduated high school. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home he served his apprentice through IBEW and this year was awarded his 50 year pin. He married the love of his life Susan Steimle on October 31, 1964 and they were blessed with three children. Ken enjoyed being outside working in his yard and tending to his pond. His favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren in their activities and rarely missed a game. Ken was a member of the Watervliet Knights of Columbus where you could find him volunteering on Bingo nights and he was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion Post 362, and FOP 147.
Ken leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory which includes: three children Kevin (Dawn) Stewart of Coloma, Mandy (Keith) Fulbright of Berrien Springs, and Darcy (Yuri) Minnick of Brighton; six grandchildren Lane Stewart, Ashley and Jacob Fulbright, Samantha, Anna and Andrew Minnick; a brother Lowen (Lynn) Stewart of Noblesville, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
Ken died Monday, November 19, at Hanson Hospice Center. His loving wife Susan Stewart, parents Lowen and Nora (Loveless) Stewart, and two brothers Bill and Don Stewart precede Ken in death. Friends may visit with Ken's family Wednesday, November 21, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 23, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet.
