Linda was born November 25, 1953, in Watervliet, Michigan. She grew up in Bainbridge Township on the family farm with her three sisters. Linda worked for many years as a clerk for Berrien County Court. She enjoyed photography, studying the bible, writing poetry, and crocheting blankets, scarves and hats. Her greatest joy came in spending time with her family.

Linda leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory including: her husband of 30 years John Wakefield; two children Tammy Joyner and Donald (Angela) Marsh-Peek; four step-children Beverly (Joe) Gales, Robert Wakefield, Larry (Wendy) Wakefield, and Tonya (Tony) Kraiger; seven grandchildren Joseph (Misty) Peek, Cody Cantrell, Rikki Peek, Dylan Joyner, Tya-Lyn (Kevin) Musgrove, Lily Marsh-Peek, and Landon Marsh-Peek; numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters Laurie Todd and Joyce Noble; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda died Friday, September 12, 2025, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She is preceded in death by a son Richard Peek, her parents Sonny and Barb (Frazee) Hiler, and a sister Dianna "Lucy" Chandler.

Funeral services will be celebrated Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM with visitation prior starting at 11:00 AM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus. Memorials may be made in Linda's memory to American Cancer Society or Helen Devos Children's Hospital.
