Obituary

Lori's life began March 31, 1962, in Benton Harbor. She was a life-long Watervliet resident, graduating from Watervliet High School in 1980. Lori was a talented musician and singer. In school she was the drum major in the marching band and she played guitar in a local combo headed up by the band teacher Mr Zychowicz for weddings and at different resorts in the summer. While in high school she was also very active in sports and other activities. Lori will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, and lover of animals.
She is survived by a loving family which includes; her husband Thomas Colman of Watervliet, son Travis Schultz of Watervliet, her parents Don and Fran Young of Watervliet, a brother Jeff (Rhonda) Young of Watervliet, two sisters Suzanne Young of Winter Haven, Florida and Kimberly Young of Hudsonville, MI, and a niece Tessa Young.
Lori died Sunday, July 20, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Her mom Lois Young precedes Lori in death. Friends may visit with Lori's family Thursday, July 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 25, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet with Father John Ambrose and Fr. Donald Wieber officiating burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made in Lori's memory to Humane Society of Southwest Michigan.
