IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Mary
(Pinder) Schaner
July 21, 1935 – January 15, 2014
Margaret's life began July 21, 1935 in Shelby, Michigan. After graduating from high school Margaret continued her education at Baker Business College earning a secretarial degree. Margaret worked at Quality Frozen Foods in Paw Paw, at pharmacies in Watervliet and Hartford, and she was a secretary and house keeper at Immaculate Conception Church in Hartford. Her favorite "job" was caring for her loving family. Margaret's flower gardening, feeding birds, and caring for her poodles were her passion. She also enjoyed keeping up on the current events and debating her political view with anyone. Margaret was spunky and full of life and loved being a mom to everyone.
Margaret's greatest love was her family which includes: ten children Theresa Martens of Freemont, Anne (Thomas) Lefor of Lawrence, Kathleen Schaner of Dallas, TX, Bernadette (Rudolph) Neumeier of Kalamazoo, Gregory Schaner (Tammy Manser) of Grand Junction, Veronica Schaner (Allen Stefanski) of Hickory Corners, Phillip (Kristin) Schaner of Grand Rapids, Christine (Mark) Parker of Watervliet, Matthew (Cyndi) Schaner of Watervliet, and Magdalen (William) Dygert of Watervliet; 24 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister Sandy (Gordon) Sherven; a daughter-in-law Bonnie Baker of Chattanooga, TN, and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 15, at Lakeland Community Hospital in Watervliet. Her loving husband of many years Bernard Schaner, a son Joseph Baker, her parents James and Veva Pinder; adopted mom Rose Jensen, and five siblings Gladys Panis, Lena Horne, Phyllis Hess, Janet Sevrance, and James Pinder precede Margaret in death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 20, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Burial will follow in Hicks Cemetery in Arlington Township.
