Mary's life began October 16, 1917 in Chicago, IL but lived most of her life in Watervliet. She worked for the Watervliet Paper Mill for 34 years and she was secretary of the Paper Mill's Credit Union. Mary enjoyed golfing at Paw Paw Lake Golf Course, reading novels, embroidering pillow cases, meeting for lunch with the ladies from the paper mill, and looking through photo albums with family and friends.

Mary was loved by all her family and friends. Her loving family includes: her son Jack (Linda) Ross; two grandchildren Danelle Thompson and Brandon (Karen) Thompson; four great grandchildren Skylar Thompson, Alexander Thompson, Arianna Thompson, and Mallory Thompson; a brother Paul (Susan) Kolenko; and many other nieces, nephews.

Mary died Friday, October 17, in South Haven. Her loving husband John Ross, parents John and Mary (Bernar) Kolenko, and three siblings John Kolenko, Joseph Kolenko, and Rose Marie Kasishke precede Mary in death. Friends may visit with Mary's family Wednesday, October 22, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet and prior to mass on Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 23, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
