Michelle was born into this world on June 22, 1979, in St. Joseph, MI. She grew up on Paw Paw Lake in Watervliet and graduated with honors from Watervliet High School. Michelle furthered her education at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. After graduation, Michelle went to work for Whirlpool Corporation, a company she loved dearly and eventually brought her to North Carolina where she would spend the rest of her years. In 2009 and 2011, she was the Whirlpool "Winner's Circle" Recipient for outstanding salesmanship. A true entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for craft beer, Michelle was also a founding member and partner in Birdsong Brewing Co., in Charlotte, NC. For her leisure, Michelle lived adventurously and you could find her traveling the world, skydiving, whitewater rafting, scuba diving, enjoying live music or soaking up the lake life tubing and boating. In 2011, Michelle founded REACT Thyroid Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, to help fund research and find a cure for thyroid cancer, which she had been diagnosed in 2009. Her legacy is survived by her loving family: Donna LeBeau (mother); Kimberly Caplea (sister); Michael LeBeau (brother); Helen LeBeau (grandmother); Tina Crapsi (closest friend); Sebastian (dog); her twin nieces and nephew and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Surrounded by her loving family, Michelle's body succumbed to her cancer on June 8 th , at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. She is preceded in death by: Arthur LeBeau (father); William & Virginia Scavone and Willis LeBeau (grandparents); and Colette LeBeau Jelke (aunt). Friends may visit with Michelle's family this Wednesday, June 17 th , from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. There will be a sharing of memories during visitation at 7:00 p.m. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18 th , 11:00 a.m, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. In lieu of flowers, Michelle's family requests that all memorials be made in her name to REACT Thyroid Foundation ( http://www.reactthyroidfoundation.org ).
