Phillip's life began August 26, 1953 in Red Bank, New Jersey.  He lived in Watervliet most of his life where he did HVAC and raised his family.  Phillip loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren.  He enjoyed working in his yard and will be remembered for being a neighborly guy with a good heart.  Phillipi was very active in his church the Church of Christ in South Haven.

Phillip leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory which includes: his wife of 33 years Sandy (Groner) Johnsen; three children Joshua (Ashley) Johnsen, Joseph (Tierney) Johnsen, and Emily (Kyle) Burke; six grandchildren McKennzie Johnsen, Lilly Johnsen, Magnus Johnsen, Remington Burke, Braxton Burke, and Temperance Johnsen; four siblings Gordon Johnsen, Scott Johnsen, Arthur Johnsen, and Barbara Johansen; and many nieces and nephews.

Phillip died Friday, August 25, at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph.  His parents Howard and Norma (Olsen) Johnsen precede Phillip in death.  A memorial service will be celebrated Thursday, August 31, at 6:00 PM with visitation prior from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.  You are invited to leave a message for Phillip's family at hutchinsfuneral.com
