On October 16, 1948 Richard Green was born to Daniel and Wiladene (DeFields) Green in St. Joseph, Michigan. He grew up in Benton Harbor, graduating from Benton Harbor High School. Richard was an over the road truck driver and was recognized to logging over a million miles of driving. He enjoyed playing golf, cars, and cruising.

Richard’s greatest joy was spending time with his loving family which includes: his wife Beth (VanderWeele) Green whom he married in 1996; seven children Vickie Visintainer, Robin Visintainer, Lori (Mike) Muske, Tina (John) Foster; Richard E (Dorothy) Green, Andrew M (Roxann) VanDonselaar, and Daniel VanDoselaar; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; a brother Ron Green; and three nieces.

Richard died Saturday, February 21, 2026, at home surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his parents. Hutchins Funeral Home is assisting Richard’s family with cremation and there are no services planned. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Richard’s family.
