Robert's life began December 21, 1933 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. After graduating high school Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Robert drove truck for a creamery, served as a police officer for Benton Harbor and Benton Twp, he worked for Whirlpool for 15 years, and Robert was an Engineer for Bryers Engineering Company out of Atlanta, Georgia. Outside of work Robert enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, telling stories, being an active member of the Sanctuary Church, listening to old country music, and was a member of AA for 42 years.

Robert's greatest joy was spending time with his loving family including: his wife Lois (Morton) Berry; a son Robert L. Berry Jr "JR" of Coloma; three daughters Angela Sieleman of Missouri, Brenda Black of California, and Kandi Osment of Missour; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; a sister Starla (Larry) Montoya; a brother Nick Berry. Robert died Friday, December 19, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. He is preceded in death by a son Brian Berry, a daughter Rebecca Lynn Frizzell, his first wife Mildred, and his parents Benjamin and Iona (Bealman) Berry.

Funeral services will be celebrated Tuesday, December 23, at 2:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet with visitation prior starting at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores. Memorials may be made in Robert's memory to his family.
