Sandra's life began April l6, 1944, in Niles, Michigan. She was a lifetime resident of Southwest Michigan, enjoying most of those years in Watervliet. Sandra worked as a nurse's aid at Shoreham Terrace Nursing Home and then for Action Garment Rental as a seamstress. In her downtime she enjoyed knitting and playing with her grandchildren.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family which includes: her husband of 47 years Walter Hatfield Sr.; four children Tonda (Johnny) Chronister, Tina (Charles) Freeman, Walter (Annette) Hatfield Jr, and Charles Hatfield; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four siblings Mike, Harold, George, and Ruth Marie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sandra died Sunday, February 25, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by two children Todd Roderick and Tammy Guess, her parents Harold and Mary Zehner, and three siblings Brenda, Kay and Phillip.

Funeral services will be celebrated Friday, March 1, at 2:00 PM with visitation prior starting at 1:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Burial will follow in Watervliet Cemetery. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Sandra's family.
