Sofia's life began December 28, 2010, in St. Joseph, Michigan. Sofia loved music and enjoyed watching Elvis videos. She also liked being outdoors feeling the sun on her face and watching people. Sofia enjoyed being around people which was good since she was blessed with a large, loving family.

Sofia's family includes: her mom Ansly Rana Potter; dad Shane Lee Kirby; her brothers Robert Hart and Dale Hart; her great grandmother Sophie Johnson; grandparents Tammie Johnson, Chris Potter, and Thelma and Charles Kirby; aunts and uncles Christopher Potter, Kenneth Potter, Elijah Johnson, Shaunna (Jonathon) Hartlerode, Travis Potter and Krystal Kirby; a great uncle Robert Johnson; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sofia died Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by two great grandfathers Robert Johnson and Dale Potter. Sofia's life will be celebrated Saturday, October 26, with a funeral at 2:00 PM and visitation starting at 1:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Watervliet.  Memorials may be made to Sofia's family in care of her great grandmother Sophie Johnson.
