Susan was born January 24, 1952, in Monroe, Michigan. As a young girl her family moved to Watervliet, where she enjoyed growing up with her four siblings. Susan was a very social person and loved her church family and crafting.

Susan leaves behind five children Meredith Thornburg (Christopher Maximena), Melinda (Andrew) Dinges, Michielle Strange, Michael (Melissa) Thornburg II and Matthew (Christine) Thornburg, many grand and great grandchildren, two siblings Debbie and David, and several nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

Susan died Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Stevensville, Michigan. Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet is assisting Susan's with cremation and there are no services planned. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for her family.
