Terry’s life began June 18, 1954, in Searcy, Arkansas. He grew up in Southwest Michigan and after high school he went to work for Benton Harbor Engineering, later he worked for ASCO Products up to retirement. Terry loved riding his motorcycle, playing golf, and going on walks with Betty. He enjoyed working out because of that he met Betty Mason at the gym and they enjoyed 10 years together. To unwind Terry enjoyed catching up on his two favorite shows NCIS or Bones. Above everything Terry loved his family. His best times started supporting his sons in their activities and continued through this grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory including: his significant other Betty Mason; two sons Terry (Karin) Harris and Chad (Annette) Harris; four grandchildren Britnie (Steven) Finehout, Taylor Harris, Teighan Harris, and Brady Harris; three great grandchildren Jayce, Ivie, and Theo; four siblings Freda Obermesik, Lowell (Pam) Harris, Teresa (Larry) Wilson, and Mike (Tisha) Harris; and many nieces and nephews.

Terry died Saturday, April 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Virginia (Root) Harris and a brother-in-law Wes Obermesik. Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet is assisting Terry’s family with cremation and they plan to celebrate his life at a later date.
