Valorie's life began Jan. 12, 1940, in Watervliet, where she graduated high school. She enjoyed reading and spending time with friends and family.

Her loving family includes two children, Kevin Cowgill of Coloma and Cathy Horenbarger of Missouri; several grandchildren; and her ex-husband, Verlyn Cowgill.

Valorie died Saturday, Aug. 27, at West Woods of Bridgman.

She was preceded in death by a son, Rick Cowgill; and her parents, George and Bula Gipson.
