Ginny's life began April 9, 1922 in Benton Harbor where she grew up and graduated from BHHS in 1940.  On October 27, 1940 she and Richard (Dick) Bridges were married and begin their life together in Watervliet.  Ginny was by Dick's side as they owned and operated Bridges Chevy and Oldsmobile for many years. She was a member of the Literary Guild, Watervliet Legion Post 338 Auxiliary, Paw Paw Lake Yacht Club, FOP Post 147, she played cards with various clubs, and served on the boards for school and city elections.  She was also a long time active member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Watervliet. Ginny will be remembered for her delicious cooking, her themed dinner parties and entertaining at their home and at their cottage on Paw Paw Lake.  She always had some kind of creative project going on to re-purpose or transform old things into new uses. Ginny was a fashion plate with every outfit carefully put together with all accessories matching.

Above everything Virginia loved her family which includes her daughter Paula (Jeanne Bridges) Marschke of Coloma, three grandchildren Shawn (Heather) Marschke, Shane Marschke, and Bethany Marschke, her son-in-law David Marschke, and a nephew Craig Arnold Workinger.

Ginny died peacefully Friday, November 13, 2015, at home per her wishes with her daughter by her side.  Her husband Richard "Dick" Bridges, parents (Edwin) Paul and Beth (Kolberg) Arnold, and a sister Nancy Workinger precede Virginia in death.  Funeral services will be celebrated Wednesday, November 18, at 5:30 PM with visitation prior starting at 3:30 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet.  Following the service Virginia will be cremated.  In honor of Virginia's love of entertaining her family will be extending an invitation for dinner following the service.  You may leave a memory of Virginia at hutchinsfuneral.com Memorials may be made in her memory to Hospice at Home or any animal rescue organization.
