December 3, 1944 – November 26, 2020
Bill's life began December 3, 1944, in Watervliet. He was the oldest son of Louis and Carmen Barchett. Bill grew up in Watervliet where he graduated high school in 1963. After high school Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Upon returning home Bill owned his own trucking business and then went to work for the teamsters first as a truck driver and then on the pipeline. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, always pulling practical jokes and his love of God.
Bill leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory including: his wife of 51 years Judy (Abner) Barchett; five children Kimberly Fackler, Brian (Kim) Barchett, Kevin Barchett, Sara (Toby) Papa, and Matt (Layla) Barchett; 12 grandchildren Chaz Fackler, Ellis Fackler, Abigaile Fackler, Hunter Barchett, Timmy Barchett, Jordan Barchett, Caleb Winfield, Jackson Winfield, Chase Barchett, Sidney Barchett, Shelby Barchett, and Zeke Papa; a brother Kerry (Linda) Barchett; a niece and a nephew.
Bill went to be with his Lord Thursday, November 26, at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. He is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Carmen (Engle) Barchett. Funeral services will be celebrated Friday, December 4, at 1:00 PM with visitation prior starting at 12:00 noon at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Burial will follow in Watervliet Cemetery. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Bill's family.
