Zbigniew "Ziggy" Dzimira's life began January 1, 1945, in Poland. He spent many years in Poland growing up and attending school. Ziggy married Helena Grzegorzak in 1967 and a couple years later in 1969 they moved to Chicago, Illinois. Ziggy and Helena and their boys would spend their summers in Southwest Michigan. Having fallen in love with Michigan it only made sense it would become their permanent home upon Ziggy's retirement. He loved building houses, planting trees, and finding projects to work on with his sons.
Ziggy found his greatest joy spending time with his loving family which includes: his wife Helena; three sons Andy and his wife Elizabeth Dzimira, Bob and his wife Krystyna Dzimira, Tony Dzimira and his fiancé Amber Rae; four grandchildren Ashley Dzimira, Megan Dzimira, Amberly Dzimira, and Rachel Dzimira; four sisters Maria Grzegorzak, Victoria Dzimira, Jozefa Ziolo, and Katarzyna Piejko; a brother Stanislaw Dzimira; and many nieces and nephews.
Ziggy died Friday, October 16, at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek. His parents Tadeusz and Stefania Dzimira precede Ziggy in death.
