Arleen was born June 14, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois to John and Evelyn (Wozniak) Mosiej. She grew up in the Chicago area where she graduated high school and worked as an administrative assistant for Dor-O-Matic. In 2000 Arleen moved to Watervliet to be closer to her sister. Arleen then worked for Lakeland Hospital for 15 years as a file clerk and she worked as a crossing guard. Outside of work you could find Arleen golfing, enjoying time with friends, playing Bingo, or volunteering her time through being a member of the Watervliet Lioness Club.
Arleen’s family includes her daughter Barbara Smith, two grandchildren Danile and Thomas Smith, a niece Bridget (Christopher) Prince, a nephew Jeffery Tavolacci, and several great nieces and nephews. She died Tuesday, June 15, at home. Her parents, step-dad Karl Zastrow, and and her sister Diane (Sam) Tavolacci precede Arleen in death.
Friends may visit with Arleen’s family Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Visitation will be followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet at 11:00 AM Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Donations may be made in Arleen’s memory to North Berrien Senior Center or Watervliet Lion’s Club. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for the family.
