August’s life began August 2, 1945, in Stuttgart, Germany. As a young boy August’s family moved to the United States and settled in Coloma. August grew up in Coloma, graduating from Coloma High School. He then continued his education earning a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Michigan and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University. During his senior year at U of M August met Julie Seymour, eventually they married and raised two boys. August worked at various businesses including HeathKit, LeRoy’s Body Shop, Watervliet and Lee Memorial Hospitals, Gateway, River Terrace, All Phase, and Cook Nuclear Plant. Outside of work August enjoyed gardening and photography. He also loved to give back to his community by volunteering for many years through Boy Scouts and the Glad-Peach Festival Committee.
August’s greatest joy was spending time with his loving family which includes his wife Julie, two sons Andrew and Matthew (April) Pupedis, and two grandchildren Joshua and Joselyn.
