Barb's life began January 28, 1938 in Chelsea, MA. She grew up in Chelsea where she attended Shurtluff Elementary and Chelsea High School. In 1953 Barb met Bill Fay who was serving in the United States Navy stationed in Massachusetts and was a patient at Chelsea Naval Hospital. On January 5, 1957 they married. After his service Barb and Bill moved to Watevliet where Bill had grown up. Barb worked as a tax accountant for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with friends. Barb was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic in Watervliet's Auxiliary and a member of Weight Watchers. She was proudly the first Weight Watchers member in Berrien County to lose 100 pounds.
Barb died Friday, February 26, 2021 at Caretel Inn in St. Joseph. She leaves behind her husband Bill Fay, a sister Christine (Joseph) Miarecki of Palmer, MA, several nieces and nephews, and her puppy Sassy to cherish her memory. Barb's parents Robert and Catherine O'Neill precede her in death.
Friends may visit with Barb's family Tuesday, March 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. Mass of Christian Buiral will be celebrated Wednesday, March 3, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Memorials may be made in Barb's memory to St. Jospeh Catholic Church or North Berrien Senior Center. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Barb's family.
