Eddi’s life began June 13, 1943, in Leachville, Arkansas. She spent most of her lifetime in the Coloma/Watervliet area. As Eddi’s children got older, she went to Beauty College and acquired her Cosmetology license, then her instructors license. She was instrumental in opening the first St. Joseph Beauty College on State Street. In 1976 she became the sole proprietor of JonEd’s Hair Styling until 1988, she sold the presently open business to her daughter Laurie. Eddie did hair until 2011 and some beyond. Through the years as business owner she enjoyed her JonEd’s bowling team at Coloma Lanes. She also did modeling jobs for the LadyBug Dress Shop in Coloma. Eddi’s favorite pastimes were reading and spending time with her kids and precious grandchildren.
Eddi leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory including: three children David (Chris) Brule of Watervliet, Laurie (Jeff) Megna and Lou (Dena) Brule both of Coloma; three grandchildren Trisha (Marty) Shabala, Stefanie Brule, and Casey (Chris) Spaulding; five great grandchildren Noah Brule, Jordan Brule, Makena Guzman, Jonathan Shabala, and Alexandria Shabala; and several nieces and nephews.
Eddi died Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Golden Shores Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by; her dad Edward Kackley, mom Audrey (Catlett) Williams, and six siblings James Williams, Virgie Anthony, John Williams, Horace Williams, O’Neal Williams, and Billy Williams.
Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet is assisting Eddi’s family with cremation. A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 3:00 PM with visitation starting at 2:30 PM at New Freedom Church in Coloma. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers in Eddi’s memory to New Freedom Church or Caring Circle Hospice. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Eddi’s family.
