James and Donna Yore Obituary

Donna (Toots) past away early morning, Thursday January 20, 2022,  just about a month shy of her 87th birthday of February 22, (1935).

Jim passed 38 1/2 hours later on January 21, 2022 which was about two months shy of his 88th birthday of March 14, (1934).

Jim and Toots met on a blind date on St. Patty’s Day almost 70 years ago. They married and built a home in Coloma in 1961 where are they shared their lives and ultimately their deaths side-by-side in bed.

Toots was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Edna (Johnson) Hoffman and brother’s Ellsworth (Sonny) Hoffman, Doug Hoffman and Joe (Corky) Gwen Hoffman. She is survived by one last brother, Almon (Al) and Lynne Hoffman.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Florence (Irwin) Yore and eldest brother Arthur (Dick) And Betty Yore.  He is survived by two brothers Terry and (Patricia/Jehudie) Yore and Patrick and (Gloria) Yore and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

All their children remain local and some with children and grandchildren of their own. Their loving family includes: daughter Tamara and son, Ladd Yore; son Todd (Rhonda) Yore; son Trent Yore and children, Paige and Zane Yore; son Taryn (Dyan) Yore; and daughter Tana and (Todd ) Kinzler and sons CJ (Scooter), Hunter (Dutch), Brandon (Butch) and “ The little girls“ (great granddaughters) Camille (Cammi) and Chase (Schnooks), who belong to Hunter. They had a few treasured, lifelong neighbors including Joanne Hendrix, Connie Dolezan, Beth and Dean, Laurie Duverne and Penny Hauch.

For years Jim and Toots loved to take trips up north in September, around their anniversary, for a long weekend to reminisce about their honeymoon. In the more recent years they stayed closer to home and loved to go antiquing and hit all of the craft shows around. They loved to go out for breakfast and dinner, but Toots loved to bake and cook which she continued to do right to the end. They enjoyed a ride around Paw Paw Lake almost every single evening for the last 20 years. Toots was always thinking about what she could do for somebody and extremely gracious of anything done for her. She would practically send “thank you” notes to anyone she had received a “thank you“ note from. She absolutely loved to decorate her house. She would find the most beautiful and unique things. She loved to garden and often referred to it as therapy. Their yard reflected that. Jim worked as a nachinisht for his entire work career until he retired. Jim then enjoyed woodworking and built countless cabinets, hutches and furniture for their home and built beautiful mantle clocks for their children when they got married. Toots collected dolls and Jim built a doll cabinet for her with a carved book that he had inscribed…” Dear Toots, I have one, you have many. These are your many, you are my one. Love, Jim”. This couple is a true inspiration of love. They cherished each other their entire lives and celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary this past September 10, 2021.

We love you mom and dad and you will be missed every day.
